MTC
How do I describe the MTC??? I’m not quite sure what to say about our MTC experience. I cried a lot. We learned a lot. The first week we laughed a lot. And the teachers were just plain awesome!!
The MTC is different for Senior Missionaries. They made it really easy for us. They really do need Senior Missionaries. We were told there was a nap room, however, we never had time to find it. Dan did look for it, but never found it.
Military Relations receive separate information from the other Senior Missionaries. The first week we learned from Preach My Gospel. It was a wonderful, spiritually uplifting time, sometimes even stretching us. Our second week we learned about Seminary and Institutes program, which was very informative and great information. We received a security briefing and were trained on what to say, such as when questioned on the current presidential election, "I have no interest in politics." We learned, that we shouldn't take anything on our mission that we're not willing to give up our lives over and many couples were advised to leave their wedding rings at home! Halfway through our second week in the MTC, we spent two days learning about different programs we may need to be involved with, in Military Relations. Our main concern would be with single, and unaccompanied military personal. We received important details concerning our assignment that would help us throughout our mission. Friday we went to the Church Office Building to see the Military Relations, and Chaplain Services. We finished with an amazing lunch buffet and said our good byes to the other couples.
I'm so glad you had that MTC experience. I'm sure it helped prepare you.
