The Golden Jesus in the Sky

We love the first Saturday of the month because we get to go to the Temple.

Last Saturday was even more special, because we had a District Conference (like Stake Conference) for all the military branches.

Dan even had one of his own family names, to do the sealing for. Conference was really good, one of the Military Relations Missionaries talked.

The Conference was at 1:00p.m. at the church, next to the temple. That made it really easy to do temple work, and then go to Conference right after. Some people had to travel several hours to get there.

The pictures I’m showing with this post are pictures going to the temple, and then going back home afterwards.

I thought about a really special story a Sister Missionary shared with me (her area includes the Temple); how one day when her and her companion were leaving the temple grounds, they met a Korean woman walking up the driveway.

As they talked her, she told them her older children were having problems. She said, “I just knew I had to come and find the Jesus in the sky, and pray for my children.”

A couple of days later they had a strong impression they needed to go to the Temple. When they got there, the same woman was there praying once again.

They told her she could go into the waiting room in the temple. She was very grateful.
She is taking the missionary lessons now. If only all of us were so wise to be drawn to the temple, as this sweet mother was to pray for her children.

  1. I love that story about the temple. Last week I was being sealed to parents who were born in 250 AD! It was a King and a Princess from Japan. The oldest birth date I had ever done work before was around the 1300's in the Taiwan or Hong Kong Temple. I love the temple. It is truly the closest place we can be to God on earth. Love you!
