Letter From Elder Hawks
Hello everybody,
How are all of you doing. I hope all
is well and God is blessing you. We feel bless and we are grateful for you
cards and letter or emails and face book things. For the past couple of months’
things seem to be moving along with us or without us. We told you about you
about Elder Bednar’s visit and his new way of teaching. That is take the
objects (the people) of your class and turn them into Agents which think and
speak and have ideas. Then ask more questions, use more examples, involve your
Agents and let everybody share. Good advice, isn’t it? We have been
to the Temple a few times. We went one time with Senior missionary couples and
went through a Korean session with earphones. It was wonderful and we enjoyed
the spirit of the people. I got a family name to take though and so the kids of
the Camp Humphreys did the baptism and ordaining. I left the name at the Temple
and someone did the initiatory and I came back and did the Endowment and the sealing
of Roy to his parent gave me the chilies. Another thing that was fantastic was
going through a session seeing the film I had seen in 1990 when I was here
last. This film was a great change from what we had been watching before.
It had music, the filming was better and Michael Ballam played in it. Going
through the Temple that day remind me of the day long ago when I was in Korea
before. We went to the Korea orphanage again. We did go last month. The BOSS
group canceled the event last month October but we sure had fun playing with
the kids. We played games and make fall scenes. The kids really had fun and so
did we. We had a breakthrough in FHE this last week. Our regulars showed up but
low and behold 3 more folks showed up which gave us 5 body. How wonderful how
great and we were so happy. We have been having adventures on the bus lately.
It seems to be faster some times and easier to deal with. We went to Osan
church house and took 2 buses to get there. Good luck and God bless and Have a
Merry Christmas.
Elder Hawks
Elder Hawks: So glad you get to go to the temple there. Also, so glad you are able to help in the orphanage, and hold FHE's for the members and people there. I hope your numbers will steadily grow. Merry Christmas!
