Life Changing Lesson on Prayer
When Elder Bednar came, he taught us
amazing lessons. One I think about a lot, is what do we pray for? We learned we
don’t ask, “Please bless that those that didn’t come to church will come next
week.” Instead we ask, “What can I do to help bring my Brothers and Sisters to
church next week?” Then have the courage to do it. We might be asked to do
something that is really difficult for us to do. Like we are standing in the
dark, with a spot light shining down on us. He might ask us to step forward
into the darkness. The darkness, where we don’t know what is out there. If we
have courage, and faith to step into the darkness, light will follow. However,
first we must have faith to step outside of our comfort zone, before we see
what he wants us to see. As I look at what I ask for, I realized it’s easy to
ask Heavenly Father to fix it! It takes courage, soul searching, effort, and
faith to ask, “what do you want me to do."
Before we ask what can I do, we have
to be willing to commit to act. Be willing to do our father’s will. We must
believe he truly sees the whole picture, and we only see the picture from where
we stand. Courage to know after we take that step into the darkness, we will
not be alone. It’s just so hard to take that step into the darkness. I think, I
know what do, what I need to do. “Father how do a find the strength to step
into the darkness?” Before I can even finish whispering it, I hear the answer,
“JUST STEP!”

Look at that army of missionaries! Wonderful!
